Hard Rock Bet Enters Ontario in First Move Beyond the US

Hard Rock Digital launched Hard Rock Bet in Ontario on July 22, its first regulated market outside the United States. The sportsbook and online casino cover Ontario players across desktop and mobile, with more than 3,000 casino games that include slots, table games and live dealer titles. Players can also place parlay bets and collect Legendary Reward Drops and online Unity Points, redeemable through the Hard Rock Bet Reward Store.

Ottawa Presence Supports Digital Entry

Hard Rock Digital draws on the group’s existing presence in Ontario to support the launch. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa gives the brand a local customer base and a physical property in the province. The company also set up an Ontario-based marketing team and a local customer support operation that runs 24 hours a day.

Marlon Goldstein, executive managing director and CEO of Hard Rock Digital, said the Ontario launch is the first time the company has brought its sportsbook and casino product to players outside the US. He added that the operator invests in local talent, partnerships and customer support built for Ontario players.

Christine Crump, president of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, called the online launch a natural next step for the brand in the province. She said it extends the casino’s existing relationship with guests into online play.

The rollout also includes a marketing tie-up with Canadian artist Choclair, who remastered his track “Let’s Ride” for the Ontario launch. The Hard Rock Bet app is available on iOS and Android, and players can also access it on desktop through HardRockBet.ca.

💡TGJ Take

Hard Rock does not enter Ontario as an unknown brand. The Ottawa casino, local support team and Unity rewards system give it retention tools that online-only operators cannot easily copy. The real test for competing operators is whether Hard Rock can turn its physical brand equity into digital player acquisition without the marketing spend that pure online challengers usually need. Affiliates should watch whether Hard Rock builds out an Ontario partner programme, since a legacy hospitality brand that moves into online betting often signals a wider push for market share rather than a single launch.
