Bloomberry Relaunches Online Gaming With In-House FUNaloMAX
Bloomberry Resorts Corporation officially launched FUNaloMAX on 14 July. The launch marks the company’s second attempt to build a standalone online gaming business in the Philippines. The product replaces MegaFUNalo, which closed on 1 May 2026 after technical problems linked to an external technology provider, according to Asia Gaming Brief.
Bloomberry developed FUNaloMAX in-house and positioned it toward younger, mobile-first players. The company said the service operates under PAGCOR oversight and includes identity verification, data protection controls and responsible gambling measures.
Greg Hawkins, President and Chief Operating Officer of Bloomberry Resorts Corporation, credited the company’s decision to build and own its technology in-house.
“We are no longer dependent on third-party platforms to execute our vision,” Hawkins said. “Tonight is about growth, ownership and the conviction to set our own challenge and back it completely.”
FUNaloMAX includes locally focused games and a 24-hour live studio with transparent gaming tables and LED backdrops.
Alongside FUNaloMAX, Bloomberry will continue to run Solaire Online, its existing service for premium customers, which remains tied to the physical casino’s inventory under a Philippine Inland Gaming Operator (PIGO) licence. FUNaloMAX, by contrast, stands as a standalone online product for the mainstream premium audience.
MegaFUNalo entered soft launch in June 2025. Bloomberry spent about PHP1.9 billion, equivalent to $30.8 million, during the initial rollout before the service closed less than a year later.
Land-based operations remained weak during the same period. Bloomberry reported a first-quarter net loss of PHP125 million. Gross gaming revenue fell 13% to PHP14.7 billion, and VIP rolling chip volume at Solaire Resort Entertainment City dropped 39%.
Chairman Enrique Razon Jr. previously said the rebuilt online operation could make a positive financial contribution by 2027, if the rollout proceeds as planned.
💡TGJ Take
FUNaloMAX is more than a rebrand. Bloomberry moved its technology in-house after it spent PHP1.9 billion on a product that lasted less than a year. The split licence structure signals deliberate segmentation, not just a new name: Solaire Online stays tied to its PIGO licence, while FUNaloMAX stands alone. The relaunch must now prove that in-house control can improve reliability and cut losses while casino revenue stays under pressure. Razon’s 2027 profitability target still carries a condition: it depends on a rollout that proceeds as planned, and MegaFUNalo’s short run makes that a real question mark.
