Brightstar Secures Top MSCI ESG Rating in First Lottery Year
Brightstar Lottery PLC said it has received an AAA rating from MSCI ESG Ratings, the highest level in MSCI’s ESG rating framework. The rating comes in Brightstar’s first year as a pure-play lottery company.
Brightstar Points to Emissions and Product Scores
According to Brightstar, the company received a perfect score for carbon emissions and high scores in product safety and quality. MSCI ESG Ratings assess companies on long-term, industry-specific sustainability risks, using a scale from AAA for leaders to CCC for laggards.
Wendy Montgomery, Brightstar SVP, Branding, Communications and Sustainability, said the rating reflects Brightstar’s focus on making sustainability a priority across the business. Montgomery also said the MSCI result gives the company further motivation to continue its sustainability work for its people, partners and planet.
MSCI Sustainability and Climate products are provided by MSCI Solutions LLC and related entities. MSCI says these products provide research, ratings and analysis on environmental, social and governance-related business practices.
💡 TGJ Take
Brightstar’s AAA rating gives the company a stronger sustainability credential in its first year as a pure-play lottery business. For lottery suppliers, that matters because ESG ratings can support how companies present risk management, emissions work and product safety and quality to partners. The source does not link the rating to tenders or contracts, so the business takeaway is reputational rather than commercial.
