GLI Backs IAGR Expansion With New Diamond-Elite Deal

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) has expanded its partnership with the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) as gambling regulators across Latin America continue tightening compliance and technical standards. Under the new Diamond-Elite sponsorship, GLI will run regulator workshops at the 2026 IAGR Conference in Lima, Peru, and support IAGR working groups focused on technology and model rules.

The agreement gives GLI a bigger role in discussions around how regulators handle operational controls, certification standards, cybersecurity, and emerging gambling technologies. For operators and suppliers working across Latin America, that matters because regulators in the region are still building long-term technical and compliance frameworks.

GLI said it will lead a half-day Regulators Workshop during the October 19-22 conference in Lima, with sessions focused on risk controls and compliance issues tied to Latin American markets. The company will also provide experts to support IAGR’s Technology Working Group and Model Rules Committee when needed.

James R. Maida, President and CEO of GLI, said the company aims to provide regulators with more hands-on support as technical oversight standards grow stricter. Ben Haden, President of IAGR, added that the sponsorship will help regulators work together more efficiently and react faster to new compliance challenges.

The timing is important. Brazil’s regulated market rollout, Peru’s expanding framework, and tighter AML expectations across LatAm are increasing pressure on operators and suppliers to meet more detailed technical standards. Companies that understand how regulators are approaching these rules early will likely move through licensing and compliance processes faster than competitors reacting later.

💡TGJ Take

GLI’s closer work with IAGR gives operators and suppliers a direct look at how Latin American regulators are applying technical and compliance rules. Companies attending GLI workshops in Lima can adjust controls before new standards are enforced. Those who skip these sessions risk delays or compliance issues. For suppliers, joining IAGR working groups means faster clarity on technology requirements and smoother licensing. Early engagement here gives a clear practical advantage.
