Konami SYNKROS Now Live Across All 29 Carnival Cruise Line Ships

Konami Gaming has completed the installation of its SYNKROS casino management system across all 29 Carnival Cruise Line ships, the company confirmed. The deployment marks the second cruise brand within Carnival Corporation to go live with SYNKROS, after Holland America Line.

Guests on Carnival Cruise Line now have access to personalised rewards, offers, bonuses and cashless wagering across onboard casinos. Internally, Carnival Cruise Line refers to the system as SURF, short for “Serving Up Rewards and Fun.”

At fleet level, the two deployments add up to 40 onboard casinos and thousands of machines across Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line combined. Cruise-specific features include cashless folio integration and virtual prize drawings.

On future expansion, Konami confirmed that Carnival Corporation is slated to extend the rollout across its full cruise portfolio, which includes AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises and Seabourn.

Tom Jingoli, President and COO at Konami Gaming, said the combined deployment across both cruise lines reflects the supplier’s broader role in Carnival Corporation’s casino technology plans. Marty Goldman, SVP Global Gaming at Carnival Corporation, said the group looks forward to bringing the system to millions more guests as it expands across the portfolio.

💡TGJ Take

Cruise casinos have specific operational demands: loyalty, cashless play and account functions tied to passengers, shipboard spend and fixed itineraries. The real signal here is not the 29-ship count but Carnival Corporation’s stated plan to extend SYNKROS across its full portfolio. If Carnival follows through, six additional cruise brands could enter the rollout path. For casino management system suppliers, this confirms that cruise operators now make enterprise-level technology decisions, not ship-by-ship ones. Konami has built a reference account that is hard for competitors to match in scale.
