Rakuten Pushes Mirai AI Agent Into Affiliate Operations

Rakuten Advertising launched Mirai on May 6, an AI agent built to help advertisers create and manage affiliate offers through conversational prompts. The company says the tool can recommend commission structures, generate code, and optimize affiliate campaigns in real time across multiple partner programs.

Mirai is aimed at one of affiliate marketing’s most labour-heavy areas: offer management. Advertisers usually need manual setup for campaign rules, tracking logic, commission changes, and promotion dates. Rakuten says Mirai can process natural-language requests and turn business goals into campaign execution without requiring manual backend configuration.

The first release focuses on affiliate offer creation and management. Rakuten said future updates will expand Mirai into partner identification, recruitment, performance optimization, and reporting.

The company did not disclose pricing, client numbers, or rollout targets. That leaves adoption unclear for now, but the direction is clear: Rakuten wants Mirai to sit closer to daily affiliate operations, not just analytics.

For gambling affiliates and operators, the relevant point is commission control. If AI systems start recommending and adjusting affiliate offers faster, commercial teams may test more payout models with less manual work. That could make campaign cycles shorter, but also less predictable for publishers used to fixed deal terms.

TGJ Take

Rakuten is moving AI from reporting into execution. That matters for affiliate teams because offer setup, commission logic, and promotion timing still consume too much manual time. Operators using affiliate programs should watch how quickly tools like Mirai move from recommendation to decision-making. Affiliates should also track how automated commission logic affects deal stability, especially around seasonal campaigns and CPA-heavy traffic.
