Sweden Names Operators in Match-Fixing Compliance Review

Sweden’s Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has launched supervisory inspections targeting licensed sports betting operators. Hajper Ltd, Prozone Limited, Casinostugan Ltd, MOA Gaming Sweden Ltd, Snabbare Ltd, and ComeOn Sweden Ltd are among the operators named in the review.

The inspections focus on Chapter 2 of SIFS 2020:2, the Swedish Gambling Inspectorate regulation on betting restrictions designed to prevent manipulation of sports results. The rules bar operators from offering certain wagers, including bets on disciplinary sanctions and performances involving minors.

Spelinspektionen said the initiative forms part of its work against match-fixing and betting-related manipulation, which the authority identifies as threats to sports integrity.

Once the review ends, Spelinspektionen will publish the inspection results. If the authority identifies violations, it will also publish any related measures in its official controls and decisions section.

💡 TGJ Take

Spelinspektionen’s review puts product teams under direct compliance pressure, not just legal departments. The focus on disciplinary sanctions and performances involving minors means Swedish-licensed operators should check actual bet catalogues against SIFS 2020:2, not rely only on policy documents. For compliance officers, the priority is clear: audit prohibited market types before the regulator does. Published enforcement decisions would create reputational pressure in a market where licence discipline matters.
