Bede Gaming Secures Alberta Approval Ahead of Market Launch
Bede Gaming confirmed that it has secured approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission to operate as a supplier in the province’s upcoming regulated iGaming market. The company was granted a one-year conditional licence, positioning it ahead of Alberta’s planned market opening in 2026.
The approval places Bede among the first platform providers cleared to support operators entering the province. Alberta has not yet launched its open market, but the regulator has started onboarding suppliers in preparation for go-live. According to the company, the licence allows it to provide its PAM and related services to licensed operators once the market opens.
The timing matters. Alberta is expected to follow a model similar to Ontario, where suppliers and operators must be approved before offering services. Early supplier approvals show that the infrastructure layer is being built ahead of operator entry.
Bede is using this window to position itself with operators preparing market entry. The company already supports multiple regulated markets and is aiming to extend those relationships into Canada’s next open province. Secondary reporting confirms that Alberta began accepting supplier registrations earlier in 2026, with licensing tied to the broader rollout of its iGaming framework.
For operators, supplier readiness will shape launch speed. Without approved PAM and backend systems, brands cannot go live even if they hold operator licences. That puts early-approved suppliers like Bede in a strong position to secure integration deals before the market formally opens.
TGJ Take
Supplier approvals are happening before operator launches, which shifts the race toward infrastructure. Early access to approved PAM providers will likely define who can enter the market on day one. Operators that delay supplier agreements risk slower rollout timelines. For suppliers, the current phase is about locking in partnerships before competition increases after launch.
