Super Joins EGBA Board as European Policy Role Expands
Super Technologies has joined the board of directors of the European Gaming and Betting Association. The move gives the operator a formal role in the group’s strategic direction across regulated European markets.
EGBA announced the appointment on 16 July 2026. Super joined the association in October 2024 and now sits alongside the group’s other board members, who guide EGBA’s work on industry standards and market sustainability in Europe.
According to EGBA, the appointment reflects Super’s growing contribution to the association since it became a member. EGBA represents online gambling operators in discussions with European regulators and policymakers, with a focus on common industry standards and regulated market development.
Borut Petek, Chief Global Affairs Officer at Super, called the board appointment “an important milestone” for the company. He said Europe has an opportunity to set a global benchmark for regulated gambling, but that this depends on closer cooperation between operators, regulators and policymakers.
Petek named consumer protection, market integrity and enforcement against illegal operators as priorities he wants the industry to pursue. He added that regulated operators must remain “the safest choice for consumers.”
Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA, said Super has been an active and committed member since 2024. He noted that the operator’s market expertise will support EGBA’s work on industry standards and competition across Europe.
The InterGame report confirmed the appointment and repeated EGBA’s statement that Super’s contribution had increased since it became a member. Neither source disclosed whether the board role gives Super responsibility for a specific policy area or committee.
💡TGJ Take
Super’s move onto the EGBA board gives the operator more than industry visibility. It opens a direct channel into policy discussions that can shape compliance costs and operating conditions across Europe. For competing operators, this is a reminder that trade association membership now functions as part of regulatory strategy, not just corporate positioning. Super joined EGBA less than two years ago, so the pace of its rise to the board also signals how fast its influence within the association has grown.
