About Flutter Entertainment
Flutter Entertainment plc is a Dublin-headquartered multinational sports betting and gaming group. It is the largest online gambling operator globally by revenue, operating across more than 100 countries. The group serves both online and retail customers, with approximately 1,150 retail shops across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, and Serbia, complementing a predominantly digital revenue base.
Flutter is the result of a number of successive mergers of group companies through acquisitions. The company was formed in 2016 following the merger of the Irish bookmaker Paddy Power with the British online bookmaker Betfair under the name Paddy Power Betfair plc. This was renamed Flutter Entertainment in May 2019.
The same year, following the Supreme Court’s 2018 decision to overturn the federal ban on state authorisation of sports betting, Flutter acquired a controlling interest in FanDuel, a US sportsbook and daily fantasy sports business. In 2020, Flutter acquired The Stars Group (which owned PokerStars and Sky Betting & Gaming) and in 2022 Sisal (Italy’s leading lottery and gaming business). In January 2024, Flutter completed its acquisition of MaxBet, an online sportsbook business in the Balkans. In April 2025, Flutter completed a €2,3 billion takeover of Snaitech, an Italian bookmaker. Upon completion of the takeover, Flutter had an estimated 30% combined online share of the Italian sports betting and online casino market.
From 2025 onwards, the group operates through two reportable divisions: FanDuel in the United States and Flutter International, which, among other markets, covers the UK, Ireland, Australia, and Italy. Apart from FanDuel, PaddyPower, Betdair, Sisal, and MaxBet, its brand portfolio includes Sky Betting & Gaming (sports & races, casino profile), PokerStars (one of the largest real-money online poker sites), Sportsbet (a bookmaker offering sports & racing predominantly, licensed in Australia), and Adjarabet (a leading bookmaker and casino site in the region of Caucasus).
Technology infrastructure is unified under a proprietary framework the group calls the Flutter Edge, which centralises pricing, risk management, and product development capabilities for distribution across individual brands. Sportsbook accounted for 56% of group revenue in FY2024, iGaming for 40%, and other products, including exchange betting and pari-mutuel wagering, for the remaining 4%.

Market Position & Regulatory Footprint
Flutter Entertainment operates under a multi-licence structure, with authorisations held at the subsidiary level across regulated markets.
FanDuel holds state-level licences for online sports betting across Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Washington D.C.
The group also holds licences in Georgia, Serbia, and further European markets through its international brand portfolio. The group benefits from a solid retail footprint and a stronger online presence following the acquisition of Snaitech.
For B2B counterparties, Flutter’s scale creates both opportunity and complexity. As a direct competitor to most mid-tier and large operators, the group is not a procurement target for white-label platform or aggregation services in the conventional sense. Its relevance to suppliers, content studios, payment processors, and data providers is considerable, however. FanDuel alone serviced an average of 4,5 million monthly players in the United States in FY2024 and held 44% of the US online sportsbook market by gross gaming revenue.
For suppliers seeking distribution at scale, integration with Flutter brands represents access to the highest-volume online gambling audience in the English-speaking world. Compliance and responsible gambling requirements across Flutter’s licensed markets are among the most demanding in the industry. It sets a high baseline for any supplier engaging with the group.
