About Light & Wonder

Light & Wonder is a cross-platform games company that develops, manufactures and distributes casino content across land-based, online and mobile channels. The company operates through three segments: Gaming (physical slot machines and systems), iGaming (real-money digital content and platform), and SciPlay (social casino and mobile games). Its catalogue spans land-based casino games, table games, real-money iGaming content and social casino titles, distributed to casino operators and online gaming platforms across regulated markets globally.

The company rebranded as Light & Wonder, Inc. in April 2022, having previously traded as Scientific Games Corporation. The name change followed the divestiture of its lottery business and included a move to the NASDAQ ticker LNW. The company is now listed on both NASDAQ and the ASX. In October 2023, Light & Wonder completed the full acquisition of SciPlay at $22.95 per share in cash for the remaining 17% equity interest. SciPlay became a wholly owned subsidiary and its stock was removed from NASDAQ.

Commercial distribution runs through two parallel tracks. First-party content from in-house studios reaches land-based casino floors through the company’s Gaming segment. The same content, alongside titles from a network of third-party studios, reaches digital operators through the OpenGaming platform, the group’s iGaming aggregation layer. Studio partners available through OpenGaming include Pragmatic Play, Playtech and Hacksaw.

Operator Considerations

Light & Wonder’s iGaming segment generated $299m in FY2024, growing 9% year-on-year, with momentum in the U.S. and international markets. The Gaming segment reached $2.1bn in FY2024 revenue, driven by machine sales share gains in North America and Australia. The SciPlay social casino segment contributed $821m for the same period.

One development of note for operators: in January 2026, Aristocrat and Light & Wonder issued a joint statement confirming a settlement of their litigation in Australia and the United States. Light & Wonder agreed to pay $127.5m USD and acknowledged that certain Aristocrat math information was used in the development of Dragon Train and Jewel of the Dragon. Both games are to be permanently removed from commercialisation globally.

For operators that evaluate a content partnership, Light & Wonder combines land-based supply history with digital aggregation within a single commercial relationship. The OpenGaming platform gives access to both first-party titles and a broad third-party studio catalogue, with Pragmatic Play, Playtech and Hacksaw confirmed as network partners. Compliance and procurement teams should treat the Dragon Train and Jewel of the Dragon settlement as an IP-diligence reference point before engagement with the wider content portfolio.
